Capabilities
Greg Madeley (Regional Manager – WA/SA)
Greg has 12 years experience in senior management in the Traffic Management industry in South Australia. He has successfully completed Cert VI business management, training and assessment and OH&S management. He has been involved with Altus Traffic for the past 6 years and has grown the SA branch rapidly with a successful supporting management team. His ability to forecast, build, grow and sustain a fast growth company is his strongest asset. In addition to this Greg is also the inaugural Chairman of the newly formed TMS
Rob Mann (WA Operations Manager)
Rob Mann has extensive experience in the role of Operations Manager. With 6 years experience in the industry he has gained an in-depth knowledge of operations in a traffic management company. Robs drive and industry knowledge ensures problems are highlighted early and systems put in place to prevent incidents. Rob is an integral part of our team to ensure the best service delivery possible with the available crew and resources.
Rob Shire (WA Business Development Manager)
Rob joined Altus after two years in retail sales and sales management in Western Australia.
Previously to this he worked for 8 years directly and on contract to British Telecom, including faults and installation works through to looking after pole installation crews as a site supervisor. Rob has also gained industry related qualifications including New Road and Street Works Accreditation (NRSWA) and passed (IOSH) Institution of Occupational Safety and Health along with a Higher National certificate in Business and Finance. These along with some new Western Australian accreditations will assist Rob working alongside with customers and fellow employees to help further growth within Altus.
Dee Bourke (WA Administrative Assistant)
Dee Bourke has a long history in customer service related roles. Prior to working for Altus she gained two years experience in traffic control with Carrington’s Traffic Services. She has now taken the Operations Administrators role which consists of invoicing, scheduling and rosters. Client liaison and customer service are two of the key aspects of her role. She shows great ability in her role, dealing with employees, clients and the general public as her people skills are held in high regard. Dee has now completed her 5th year in the Traffic Management industry.
Clansy Nair (Senior Operations Supervisor)
Clansy McNair has progressed from a start in the industry 6yrs ago, as a Traffic Controller working on the roads, into Operations Departments with two Traffic Management Companies. The roles include Operations Scheduler, Operations Foreman, and Fleet Supervisor.
In the two and a half years at Altus, Clansy has been onsite supervisor on large complex Traffic Management worksites, day and night works. Clansy also conducts worksite compliance, audit and training roles on the worksites. She also fills the role of Operations Scheduler, staff rostering, client liaison and customer service as required
Vincent Poole (Senior Planner, WA)
Vince has over twelve year’s practical experience in most facets of Civil Engineering consulting with a background of four years relevant skills in Traffic and Transportation engineering. His depth proven with demonstrated project histories from inception through to completion and management is indicative of the communicative and client liaison skills he can deliver to national and international customers through local knowledge and local government clients. An awareness of passenger transport initiatives and road transport logistics are key areas where his detailed and inclusive approach to solutions with commercial applications involving traffic management practices highlights the innovative approach and service to business needs.
Matthew Robinson (Planner)
Mathew has 8 years experience in the traffic management industry in WA. Matthew holds an Advanced Traffic Management Certification in WA and provides our planning function for all work from the Perth branch.
People and Recruitment
Altus has a full time HR expert working in the business along with substantial HR support at State level. All operational staff involved in recruitment are mentored by our HR manager and robust recruitment systems are employed to raise the bar with respect to gaining employment with Altus. In addition, Altus has national agreements with a number of larger recruiters further assisting our recruitment efforts in those times of higher recruiting requirements. Overall, Altus has the systems and people in place to ensure we are well resourced at all times.
RTO and Training
Altus Traffic Pty Ltd is currently in the process of becoming a Registered Training Organization. This will enable us to conduct training internally giving Altus the ability and flexibility to supply all staff with high level accreditations and competencies as required, for both planned and unplanned needs. We believe there are significant efficiencies to be gained by becoming an RTO which in turn benefits our clients. Certification is expected towards mid 2011.
Fleet
Altus Traffic currently has a fleet in excess of 300 vehicles with a combination of light trucks and utility vehicles. Altus has a long standing relationship with Toyota Australia and has senior corporate account management in place. Altus management and Toyota Australia have regular planning meetings to ensure our requirements are well catered for and vehicles are available as and when required to meet our operational needs.
Altus fleet maintenance is managed by Fleetcare Australia, a specialist provider of fleet management solutions. Fleetcare are an active part of the Altus business and work tirelessly with our State Managers ensuring their fleet is maintained to a high level of readiness for all operational requirements. All vehicles in our fleet enjoy roadside assistance which minimises the operational risk associated with those vehicle issues that do occur from time to time. Our fleet is covered 24/7 ensuring no delays or issues.
In addition to our ability to resource our own new vehicles, Altus have national supply agreements in place with hire car companies, Europcar, Budget and Thrifty. This ensures that even at a moment’s notice we are able to meet short term spikes in our customer’s requirements.
Altus also own and can supply as required water barriers, pedestrian barriers, containment fencing, variable message boards, static notice boards, trailer mounted arrow boards, portable traffic lights, crash attenuators and have an installation team for temporary and long term sites to compliment its Traffic Management service.
Systems and IT
Altus has invested in state of the art IT systems to support all facets of the business. Scheduling, invoicing and payroll are all part of an integrated system that ensure higher degrees of accuracy in invoicing but also significant reporting capability for our customers. CRM and HRM systems assist the business in tracking all training and ensuring transparency in ensuring all members of the team are appropriately trained and meet the requirements of any job they attend. Altus currently roster upwards of 900 staff per day and have the IT system capability to manage many more.
Altus runs of a significant IT platform, the servers are housed at a state of the art collocation site, ensuring maximum connectivity and insurance against power outages and downtime. All systems have dual backups with automatic cutovers in the event of a serious server failure. This guarantees their ability to always be ready to meet all requirements at all times.
