Altus Group Named Finalist in the 33rd National Safety Awards of Excellence
Altus Group has been named a Finalist in the 33rd National Safety Awards of Excellence, recognised in Category 2B, Best Solution of a WHS Risk (Large Business), for our Workzone Digitisation system.
The 2026 National Safety Awards of Excellence celebrate organisations across Australia that have delivered genuinely innovative, proven solutions to workplace health and safety risks. This year's judging process was highly competitive, with an exceptional number of high-quality entries submitted from organisations nationwide, making the finalist selection a significant achievement in its own right.
Our entry recognised the work behind Workzone Digitisation, our system of smart worksite safety technology that includes Intellitag, Intellitop Cone Sensors, Sentry Lasers and the Portable Site Alarm. Workzone Digitisation was developed to address a real and ongoing WHS risk on traffic-controlled worksites: the safety of workers operating in close proximity to live traffic, often with limited visibility or warning of an approaching hazard. Workzone Digitisation moves beyond manual observation alone, using sensor-based technology to detect intrusions into a work zone and alert crews in real time, helping to reduce reliance on a worker's own line of sight in a genuinely high-risk environment.
Being named a Finalist reflects the work of everyone involved in developing, trialling and rolling out Workzone Digitisation across our sites, and the ongoing commitment across Altus Group to finding better ways to keep our people safe on the job. It's also a reminder that safety innovation isn't a one-off project. It's something we keep building on as new technology and new site data give us better ways to protect our crews.
We look forward to the announcement of category winners at the National Safety Awards of Excellence, and we're proud to be recognised among this year's Finalists.
