Altus Group has been delivering Workzone Digitisation across a rolling program of night re-sheet and asphalt shifts for Downer | Transurban on the M2 Motorway. Rather than a single shift, this has been a sustained deployment, and that continuity has allowed us to do something a one-off snapshot cannot: observe how a worksite changes once it becomes fully visible.

Altus Traffic deployed Workzone Digitisation for Fulton Hogan's asphalt works in Adelaide's King William Street tram corridor, managing 185 tram escorts across 10 shifts and cutting monitoring travel from 340km to 44km.

In May 2025, Transport for NSW partnered with Altus Traffic to utilise digital traffic management technologies during a planned three-night closure of the M1 Tugun Tunnel, demonstrating how the future of traffic management is both digital and deeply human; keeping workers safe, traffic flowing, and emissions down.

Supporting ConnectSydney in rolling out 'Workzone Digitisation' to demonstrate how real-time workzone monitoring can enhance safety, manage speed compliance, optimise traffic signage, and significantly reduce emissions.  Altus Group is proud to play a role in creating safer roads and smarter worksites—so that everyone gets home safely. 

This real life video footage of a breach on the M5 East Motorway highlighted the critical role that digital innovations in workzone safety can play in reducing risk and preventing potential harm.  

The M4 Downer Transurban Workzone Digitisation Trial demonstrated the effectiveness of digital technologies in enhancing worksite safety, improving compliance, and reducing environmental impact to create more controlled and efficient work environments. 

In a concerted effort to enhance roadworker safety and influence driver behaviour, Fulton Hogan Egis has introduced Workzone Digitisation for all scheduled closures on M5 East (M5E).

As vehicles begin traversing the newly opened Sydney Gateway, the efforts of Altus Traffic and all who contributed to this project will be experienced by thousands daily.
