As National Road Safety Week 2026 has come to an end, the message remains as important as ever — road safety is everyone’s responsibility, every day.  While the official week may be over, the conversations and actions it inspires should continue long after the campaign ends. 

Across Australia, more than 1,300 lives are lost and over 40,000 people are seriously injured on our roads each year. National Road Safety Week is a time to remember those impacted and to commit to doing better. One of the most meaningful ways to get involved is by committing to the “Drive So Others Survive” pledge. It is a simple promise with real impact, asking every driver to think beyond themselves and take responsibility for everyone on the road.

School zone speed limits are now back in force, and that means slowing down, staying alert, and remembering that children can be unpredictable near roads.

As another Movember draws to a close, the Altus and TMNZ community has once again demonstrated just how powerful collective action can be. What began as a few brave souls willing to sacrifice their upper-lip dignity quickly evolved into one of our most impactful Movember campaigns to date, fuelled by determination, generosity and a good dose of humour.

The 2025 Traffic Controller Safety Survey highlights the importance of continued collaboration, innovation and training in making Australia and New Zealand’s roadworks safer for all. Drawing on feedback from more than 1,600 traffic controllers, the survey offers valuable insights into the daily experiences and risks faced by those working in and around live traffic environments. 

Every day, thousands of road workers enter high-risk environments to help build, repair, and maintain the infrastructure that keeps our communities moving. Behind the hi-vis vests, cones, and road signs are real people — parents, siblings, friends, and neighbours — each with a story, a purpose, and someone waiting for them to come home.

In a remarkable first for our organisation, 10 talented team members from TMNZ have made the leap across the Tasman, joining Altus Traffic in Adelaide, South Australia.
